I fell in love a little

Not a flash turning my head

Or one with deep pockets

That jingled instead

Alas he’s stable

When it comes to those matters

ree

But what do I know

He’s climbed all his ladders

It happened without looking

no relationship first

He’s taken as I am

No affair or quenched thirst

There is none but I’m loved

This I know, I feel

He reads me with honor

That’s sure the appeal

Good cheese and champagne

Are merely the bait

My head rests on his shoulder

Imagination as fate

I’ll look forward to a visit

A text between lines

It’s doubtful that this

Could be forever mine

Meantime I’ll imagine

When feeling alone

The comfort of his message

The softness of his tone

I’m smitten, yet different

Not a crush or passing fling

From a distance I’ll be watching

In the sunlight I will sing
